So, in the now, the squathare appeared as if a boulder mishappenly placed in the tall reed-like grasses of this mesa. Unsuited to chase the bullet-fast creatures that galloped across the flattened plane. Unfit to catch the low soaring winged beasts that scoured the earth for prey. Unable to devise plots to trap the slowest lifeform scurrying about the roots of the grasses. Left only to chance upon the dead carcases often times picked clean from the efforts of other scavengers, and the dense supply of unguarded nest of egglayers, which offered the most nutrition.
So it was this day, this time, that the squathare lay flattened to the moist ground. Its keen eyes vigilantly peering through the reeds. Had it had the ability to form idea ...
