This star is an average sized yellow dwarf star with 25 planets located within the Polystratus Euphorion star cluster in the Adrastea arm of the barred spiral galaxy NGC 1300. The star Darwin Arae is metal-rich and is quite violent, prone to many flares and sunspots. Darwin Arae is a mature hot (for its size) star - at 4.2 billion years old. Orbiting this star are 25 planets, 15 of which are rocky worlds, 10 of which are gas giants. There are 4 asteroid belts in this solar system: orbiting between the 12th and 13th planets, orbiting between the 18th and 19th planets, orbiting between the 21st and 22nd planets, and the largest of the 4 asteroid belts orbits behind the 25th planet.

This solar system is home to the Darwin Arae Empire, a vast civilization of mainly carbon-based bipeds. The population of the Darwin Arae Empire, including this solar system and others that belong to the Darwin Arae Empire, is total to about 15 trillion individuals, many live on the planets of Koralia, Ihnatar, and Tundaloth. Tundaloth is currently undergoing terraforming operations. Many other species of people indigenous to other worlds from other star systems conquered by the Darwin Arae Empire live mainly on the habitable worlds throughout the empire, some of these planets include, Tandidion, Qiram, Rybrinlor, and Apragua. There are a large number of Koralians living on Koralia's moons as well as numerous other habitable moons that exist within the Darwin Arae Empire or in one of hundreds of artificial space habitats throughout the Darwin Arae Empire as well.

The Darwin Arae Empire's political organization is considered an Absolute Monarchy but is more similar to a Totalitarian Dictatorship. The emperor creates the laws, enforces the laws and has final say on everything. The current emperor; Niran I is considered to be the most loved emperor of all time, because of his belief and emphasis on expanding personal and political freedoms to all citizens of the Darwin Arae Empire.

Existing within the Darwin Arae Empire, is a large organization known as the GTS (Galactic Trade Service) which is a largely self-governed and powerful commerce group, trade servicing mega-corporation, and lobbying syndicate that was founded in 1200BCD in association with the Darwin Arae Empire's own business and trade groups.

The GTS has grown to dominate several star systems within the Darwin Arae Empire, as well as all travel and trade routes within the empire, also possessing a large private military, as well as numerous fleets of star ships. The GTS mainly operates in the Proxthenis Astraia system (TAE565). Many of the GTS bases are located on several of planet Kerarum's (TAE565.1) moons, the largest GTS base is located on the temperate moon of Tannris (TAE565.1.7).

The Darwin Arae Empire was formed about 1,400 years ago when the Koralian people engaged in a communist-like system, now united, they formed a nearly invincible empire and conquered other local and distant star systems. The current emperor is Niran I of the Varnar Dynasty. There have been a total of 3 dynasties in the history of the Darwin Arae Empire, the names of the 3 dynasties are, the Xuhnshih Dynasty, the Qayar Dynasty, and the current Varnar Dynasty.

Within the four asteroid belts lies many small settlements where mostly GTS mining operations are under weigh, these areas have a total population of about 300 million.

-6BCD- A massive artificially intelligent and self-replicating star ship complete with the ability to travel instantaneously via wormhole technology and the manipulation of highly advanced principles of quantum mechanics is constructed in orbit around the planet Gullupia (TAE557.13). 100 million embryos of Koralian origin are boarded onto the ship and are placed into temporary suspended animation, the massive ship traveling through space and time instantaneously is sent on a series of intergalactic - and eventually inter-dimensional missions in which it will find habitable worlds/habitable dimensional planes in which to raise the Koralian embryos it is carrying to maturity, therefore preserving the Koralian species indefinitely. Dubbed "Mission Children of Ascendancy." The ship is currently thought to be more than 5 million light years away from the Darwin Arae system, somewhere within the galaxy NGC 1232. It is estimated that the artificially intelligent ship has already populated more than 1,000 habitable worlds with the Koralian people, millions of light years away from their original inception, and is teaching them of their origin as well as the advanced technologies used by the the Darwin Arae empire so that they may harness it themselves and thrive within all corners of the universe.

Amesos is a very small terrestrial planet, on an orbit about 9553*106 km from its star. Its' radius is 2812 km, its' mass is 177. One year on Amesos lasts 18 earth days, one day on Amesos lasts 221 earth hours. Its' average surface temperature is 1663, and it has 0 moons.

The innermost planet of the Darwin Arae system, Amesos is an extremely hot planet with a very thick atmosphere which causes an immense greenhouse effect. Amesos is a dead world that is no longer geologically active. The surface of Amesos is so hot that it is nearly molten with few to no rocks, therefore the terrain consists mainly of flat molten lava plains. Amesos is tidally locked to it's parent star because of its short 7 day orbit (18 Earth days). Strong consistent winds and the thick atmosphere consisting mainly of Carbon Dioxide and trace gases, ensure that the surface temperature is constant throughout the entire planet.

Although Amesos has no moons the Koralian people have set up one artificial sattelite in orbit of Amesos, it is an unmanned data collecting probe that measures solar activity.

The planet consists of a small iron core surrounded by a mantle of silicate rock. Small amounts of minerals such as Wurenite and Vaxan crystals are currently being excavated from sites near extinct volcanoes, by unmanned robotic mining operations on the surface of Amesos.

Due to the extreme conditions on the surface of Amesos, the planet is uninhabited.

Koralia

Koralia is a very large terrestrial planet, on an orbit about 121086*106 km from its star. Its' radius is 11507 km, its' mass is 12189. One year on Koralia lasts 841 earth days, one day on Koralia lasts 23 earth hours. Its' average surface temperature is 331, and it has 3 moons.

Koralia, the second planet in this system, features organic life forms generally very intelligent that have developed a high tech civilisation capable of utilizing hyperspace technology to explore their own solar system as well as distant star systems. Its average temperature is 331K (58C) and it's atmosphere contains 29% of oxygen. One year on Koralia lasts 841 days, one day lasts 23 hours. It's diameter is 23014 km, 1.8 times the diameter of the Earth.

Koralia is the birthplace and throneworld of the Darwin Arae Empire. The planet is a large, humid terrestrial world with 6 major oceans of liquid water and 9 very large continents made up of mainly thick tropical jungles and gargantuan mountain ranges. This planet is 4.2 billion years old and has undergone countless mass extinction events in its history. Life on this planet seems to evolve extremely rapidly and is believed to have began only about 400 million years after the planet's formation, during which time the planet had cooled just enough for archaic forms of life to emerge deep in prehistoric underground oceans .

The indigenous Koralian people are sentient carbon-based bipeds with two arms and two eyes located on the front of their heads. The Koralian people have pale blue silicone-like skin, and fibrous bones making them quite flexible. Their heads are slightly elongated due to their large brain-like organs located at the back of their heads. The Koralian people use a written language similar to that of Sumerian cuneiform, and use a spoken language that is somewhat similar to broken Ancient Greek. The Koralian species are tetrachromats however their eyes allow them to see the ultraviolet part of the spectrum as well. The average life expectancy of a Koralian is about 900-940 years. Ihnatar

Ihnatar is a medium terrestrial planet, on an orbit about 181629*106 km from its star. Its' radius is 5672 km, its' mass is 184. One year on Ihnatar lasts 1545 earth days, one day on Ihnatar lasts 33 earth hours. Its' average surface temperature is 255, and it has 1 moons.

Ihnatar, the third planet in this system, features organic life forms with quite low intelligence. The civilisation on this planet is a colony. Its average temperature is 255K (-18C) and it's atmosphere contains 34% of oxygen. One year on Ihnatar lasts 1545 days, one day lasts 33 hours. It's diameter is 11344 km, 0.8 times the diameter of the Earth.

Since Ihnatar has been locked in an ice age, giant crystallized glaciation and ethane ice cover the surface, as well as huge crystal spurs. Ihnatar's internal heat has long since cooled leaving massive deposits of precious minerals within the planet's crust and mantle. The immense assets of Vaxan crystals and fields of Xuron crystals make Ihnatar among the wealthiest worlds in the Darwin Arae Empire. Along with Vaxan and Xuron crystals, Ihnatar also hosts huge deposits of Wurenite crystals and a precious and unusual metal known as Ereimious, which is the almost indestructible metal that was used to construct the massive motherships capable of FTL-9 speeds. The planet's ice shelves are home to an aggressive, giant spider-like species who burrow in the ice, the name of this unintelligent species are the Octihnans, named for their eight massive legs. The Octihnans are the only known indigenous life forms found on the planet Ihnatar.

Ihnatar is not composed of a uniform terrain; instead it is composed of many different kinds of terrain. There is not any volcanic activity on this planet, meaning the planet's interior is stable. The immense amount of precious metals and minerals found in the crust supports the theory that Ihnatar's volcanic activities have been extinct for some time.

Few cities exist on Ihnatar's surface. Of the cities, many came to power by producing synthesized crystals, developed in huge capacitor towers that store and distribute the energy of of the crystal throughout the city, however the operation of synthesizing crystals is very dangerous and costly. The cities are mainly administered around large surrounding crystal mines, though the cities also contain vaults which are used as top-secret operation storage units.

The whole surface of Ihnatar is covered in thick ethane ice, the polar climate causes massive ice storms that almost constantly batter the frigid surface. Before the ice age, Ihnatar had a climate ranging from polar to temperate-30% of Ihnatar was covered in polar ice caps, and 70% ...

Tundaloth

Tundaloth is a very large terrestrial planet, on an orbit about 272443*106 km from its star. Its' radius is 9853 km, its' mass is 7652. One year on Tundaloth lasts 2838 earth days, one day on Tundaloth lasts 27 earth hours. Its' average surface temperature is 258, and it has 4 moons.

Tundaloth, the fourth planet in this system, features organic life forms although there is no higher intelligence. The civilisation on this planet is a colony. Its average temperature is 258K (-15C) and it's atmosphere contains 12% of oxygen. One year on Tundaloth lasts 2838 days, one day lasts 27 hours. It's diameter is 19706 km, 1.5 times the diameter of the Earth.

Tundaloth is a cold, dusty desert world, in the final stages of terraforming. Tundaloth has mainly a harsh rocky landscape, and Tundaloth has a thick breathable atmosphere. Tundaloth is orbited by four rather large moons, which have a subtle tidal effect on the planet's liquid core and underground springs. Tundaloth has no surface water except for the small amount of frozen water inside of glaciers at the planet's poles, and there is also water deep in underground aquifers which are heated by the planet's core.

Tundaloth is a planet of extremes: dry, rocky landscapes of cold deserts, mountain ranges with mist-covered peaks, shadowy valleys, alternate with snowy wastes, joined by a lush temperate strip of land on the equator which contains much of the planet's population. This planet serves mainly as a prison colony where thousands prisoners from all around the Darwin Arae Empire have been deported, however many other people live here as well, mainly in large cities within the temperate region. The total population of Tundaloth is about 140 billion, most of whom are Koralians, however many Rydial people live here as well, because conditions here are very similar to those on their home planet. Previously uninhabitable, Tundaloth has no native species however many species of animals as well as aquatic animals have migrated to Tundaloth with the help of the Koralian people.

Tundaloth is quite abundant in natural rescources such as gold, silver and platinum, germanium and gallium therefore mining operations on the planet are booming. Tundaloth's volcanic activity ceased eons ago, the last recorded volcanic eruption was about 40,000 years ago which was recorded by telescopes from the surface of Koralia long before the Darwin Arae Empire began to terraform the world.

Ryoobah

Ryoobah is a very small terrestrial planet, on an orbit about 408664*106 km from its star. Its' radius is 2983 km, its' mass is 212. One year on Ryoobah lasts 14 earth years, one day on Ryoobah lasts 53 earth hours. Its' average surface temperature is 72, and it has 2 moons.

The existence of Ryoobah has been discerned for more than 50,000 years, and is currently being used as a manned military outpost station located in the planet's equatorial region, holding top secret weapons of mass destruction in large environmentally controlled bunkers, manufactured by the Darwin Arae Empire.

Ryoobah's surface is composed entirely of massive ice shields and various mountain ranges that jot the surface.

Ryoobah's atmosphere is thin, and is composed of mainly of oxygen. Ryoobah is home to about 100,000 people, of the Qiramese, Koralian and Rydial races, all of whom are in some way connected with the military operations here, however those who live here must wear protective gear in order to stay alive due to the lack of atmosphere, and unpleasant, freezing temperatures.

Ryoobah is home to an unmanned remote outpost station located on the planet's south pole, that monitors the activity of the planets in the mid solar system.

Gamboodor

Gamboodor is a medium terrestrial planet, on an orbit about 612996*106 km from its star. Its' radius is 6380 km, its' mass is 2077. One year on Gamboodor lasts 26 earth years, one day on Gamboodor lasts 31 earth hours. Its' average surface temperature is 38, and it has 5 moons.

Gamboodor is a frigid wasteland, widely considered to be the strangest planet in the Darwin Arae system. Gamboodor's appearance is constantly changing due to the constant movement of the planet's tectonic plates, therefore Gamboodor has a a relatively smooth surface. Gamboodor is covered in a thick silt-like iron rich soil that sticks to anything it may come in contact with.

Every Gamboodorian year a massive dust storm coats the the planet's upper atmosphere, causing the temperature of Gamboodor to plummet hundreds of degrees lower than it's average temperature.

Gamboodor is uninhabited, however there are several unmanned outpost stations that monitor Gamboodor's seasonal variations. Gamboodor's heated core is rapidly spinning creating a huge magnetic field that reaches nearly to the orbit of Nabrinmir.

Gamboodor's ring system are the remnants of a large moon perhaps, that got too close to Gamboodor and was essentially ripped apart by Gamboodor's powerful gravitational pull.

Nabrinmir

Nabrinmir is a small terrestrial planet, on an orbit about 919494*106 km from its star. Its' radius is 3049 km, its' mass is 226. One year on Nabrinmir lasts 48 earth years, one day on Nabrinmir lasts 29 earth hours. Its' average surface temperature is 39, and it has 3 moons.

Nabrinmir is among the smallest of the planets in the mid solar system, but by far the most habitable and capable of life, with one small frozen surface ocean of solid water ice, a vast warm subsurface ocean, and two small rocky continents.

Nabrinmir has a cold climate altogether, but it's equatorial region is surprisingly warm, this heat is generated by internal heat from it's huge, wildly spinning core of molten rock. Frozen oceans of liquid water are present on the surface of Nabrinmir, however Nabrinmir has no known native species. The Koralian people became ambitious about this planet when they first suspected that it could potentially harbor subsurface oceans of liquid water, (14,000 years ago) but did not begin to migrate to Nabrinmir until superliminal travel was regularly used.

Nabrinmir is a dim world, because of the lack of light that reflects off of the planet's surface.

50 billion Koralians, Qiramese, Rydial and Aalarian people call this distant land home, however those that live here must wear protective gear in order to stay alive while traveling outside of their habitats because of the freezing temperatures. A further 15 billion people live in orbiting space habitats, and about 1 billion people live in the underground cities in the moons of Nabrinmir. Most of the citizens of Nabrinmir live in or around the planet's capital city Vhederon, located in the Southern hemisphere, very near the planet's equatorial zone.

Isuriara

Isuriara is a small terrestrial planet, on an orbit about 1379241*106 km from its star. Its' radius is 4445 km, its' mass is 702. One year on Isuriara lasts 88 earth years, one day on Isuriara lasts 37 earth hours. Its' average surface temperature is 10, and it has 0 moons.

The eighth planet in the Darwin Arae system, Isuriara is the fourth largest world in the mid solar system. Isuriara is an active, changing world that is moderately geologically active. The landscape of Isuriara is composed entirely of massive frozen bodies of ethane ice. The friction of Isuriara's rapidly spinning core have opened up fissures within Isuriara's glacial layers, sending jets of underground liquid ethane several hundred kilometers into space, hence creating cryovolcanoes on Isuriara.

Isuriara's atmosphere is extremely thin, and is composed mainly of Hydrogen.

The outermost planet of the Darwin system, Meronn is a small and icy world located in the very distant outer solar system. Meronn has a very thin frozen atmosphere composed of nitrogen and trace gasses. The surface of Meronn is abundant in silicate minerals including pyroxene, olivine and stishovite. Meronn also possesses copious amounts of uranium and iron ore within its thick crust. Currently the planet and its moons are used as a storage area for destroyed military vessels as well as millions of metric tons of highly toxic radioactive waste. Several decommissioned war ships are permanently parked in orbit.
