    Qabalixica
red dwarf star

Welcome, explorer!

Mages, mystics, and wise men travel many light years from distant worlds to study the secrets of Qabalixica. Those who succeed can achieve immortality or even control Reality itself. Those who fail may perish.

Qabalixica and its ten planets are an ancient solar system, born in the earliest days of the Galaxy. It is said to harbor an Elder Magic, older and deeper even than the Force. Learn its mysteries if you can!

    Malkoot
Malkoot, on an orbit about 42082*106 km from its star. Its' radius is 5721 km, its' mass is 1497. One year on Malkoot lasts 172 earth days, one day on Malkoot lasts 17 earth hours. Its' average surface temperature is 273, and it has 0 moons.

Malkoot, the first planet in this system, may feature life forms - it's average temperature is 273K (0C) and it's atmosphere contains 26% of oxygen. One year on Malkoot lasts 172 days, one day lasts 17 hours. It's diameter is 11442 km, 0.8 times the diameter of the Earth.

At first glance, Malkoot appears to be the only planet with life forms:

It is inhabited by a decadent & warlike civilization, the Qlifoth, whose overcrowded and polluted cities appear on all four continents. The four Qlifoth Lands -- Oort, Aera, Furia, Aquos -- fight almost constantly over scarce resources.

Malkoot also has a second sentient species, the elusive Memnas, who live in the deep seas and are rarely even seen by the land dwelling Qlifoth. The Memna are an older species which once lived on land before evolving into sea creatures. During their land era they left behind simple artifacts, drawings, and myths.

One Memna myth concerns their arrival on planet Malkoot. According to legend, their ancient ancestors were originally from the mysterious planet of Keth-Ra in the cold, dark outer reaches of the solar system. They migrated from world to world, drawn ever closer to the red sun Qabalixica, until reaching the innermost planet Malkoot. The Memna call these ancestors the Lightning People because it is said they rode down from the sky on bolts of lightning.

    Yesood
Yesood, on an orbit about 68552*106 km from its star. Its' radius is 7884 km, its' mass is 3920. One year on Yesood lasts 358 earth days, one day on Yesood lasts 14 earth hours. Its' average surface temperature is 205, and it has 3 moons.

Mysterious Yesood may once have been a moon of Malkoot that broke away into its own orbit. It appears uninhabited today, but was once habitable. Indeed, primitive pictographs (similar to drawings left by ancient Memna peoples on Malkoot) indicate Yesood was at least visited briefly by intelligent beings. However there is no fossil evidence of life on Yesood, so these pictographs are rather controversial. Some scientists believe they are a hoax. They have never been deciphered, but appear to depict dreamlike scenes of moons, shooting stars, and lightning bolts.

    Hoddia
Hoddia, on an orbit about 112269*106 km from its star. Its' radius is 11799 km, its' mass is 13140. One year on Hoddia lasts 750 earth days, one day on Hoddia lasts 11 earth hours. Its' average surface temperature is 115, and it has 40 moons.

Barren Hoddia is the outpost used by visiting scientists from other solar systems who wish to discreetly observe the Qlifoth civilization on Malkoot or make field trips to nearby Yesood to study its famous dreamlike pictographs.

The Qlifoth on Malkoot are not a space faring people, but they do have telescopes. Therefore all research stations on Hoddia are carefully camouflaged so Malkoot based astronomers would never notice them. The Qlifoth people have not yet made first contact with extraterrestrial people, are subject to the Prime Directive, and therefore Malkoot is classified as a strict No Visit zone.

(Interestingly, there is no rule against contacting the sea dwelling Memnas of Malkoot, but no practical means of communicating with them that wouldn't catch the notice of the Qlifoth is widely known. There have been unconfirmed rumors of telepathic communication with the Memna, which is supposedly easy to do from neighboring Yesood, but scientists scoff at such stories.)

The largest complex on Hoddia is the Alexandria Research Station & Spaceport (ARSASP) located at the north pole. This is an ideal location for viewing Malkoot because it never rotates out of the visible sky here, plus the many moons of Hoddia almost never block the view here. If you come to visit Qabalxica from elsewhere in the Galaxy, ARSASP is likely to be your first stop.

    Netza
Netza, on an orbit about 2273484*106 km from its star. Its' radius is 72207 km, its' mass is 3011812. One year on Netza lasts 187 earth years, one day on Netza lasts 10 earth hours. Its' average surface temperature is 1563, and it has 72 moons.

Appearing as a bright star in the Malkoot sky, the primitive, warlike ancestors of today's Qlifoth once worshiped Netza as a god of Victory in Battle. Their astrologers still track its orbit to make predictions about when battles will be won or lost. However there is some evidence that he sea dwelling Memna called Netza by a different name (now lost or kept secret) which represented Desire and Love.

Netza is unbearably hot due to a runaway green house effect within its thick, roiling atmosphere. While easily accessible to visitors coming from neighboring Hoddia, almost no one actually goes there.

    Tifar
Tifar, on an orbit about 5730698*106 km from its star. Its' radius is 77337 km, its' mass is 3700427. One year on Tifar lasts 750 earth years, one day on Tifar lasts 10 earth hours. Its' average surface temperature is 1297, and it has 116 moons.

Mighty Tifar is the largest planet orbiting Qabalixica (although the big outer planet Beena comes a close second).

Tifar is a gas giant. Scientists believe it is a star that failed to ignite. If it had, Qabalixica-Tifar would be a binary system, and life on Malkoot would probably have evolved much differently (if at all).

The colorful upper atmosphere of Tifar is renowned for its alien beauty, as are the landscapes of some of its more exotic moons. Artists or photographers visiting Qabalixica might wish to travel to Tifar for inspiration. It's a fairly short trip from Hoddia. but beware its deep gravity well doesn't trap you when the time comes to leave.

    Gebbra
Gebbra, on an orbit about 8596047*106 km from its star. Its' radius is 34928 km, its' mass is 340887. One year on Gebbra lasts 1378 earth years, one day on Gebbra lasts 10 earth hours. Its' average surface temperature is 1012, and it has 132 moons.

Gebbra is seldom visited because, frankly, it has a reputation for disaster. Most who go there are never seen again. There are rumors of strange creatures or dark magic in Gebbra, but scientists insist on a more mundane explanation. For instance, the lower atmosphere could contain corrosive chemicals that damage space vehicle and protective suits. An unmanned probe was sent to Gebbra to chemically test the atmosphere, but it stopped communicating shortly after landing and was never heard from again.

    Chessed
Chessed, on an orbit about 12894070*106 km from its star. Its' radius is 26797 km, its' mass is 153938. One year on Chessed lasts 2531 earth years, one day on Chessed lasts 10 earth hours. Its' average surface temperature is 1096, and it has 165 moons.

Space pirates and treasure hunters sometimes visit Chessed because it is known to have vast deposits of precious gems and minerals. According to legend, the famous pirate captain Three Eyed Jack even buried his treasure somewhere on Chessed before heading off to the Galactic Core to fight the Imperial Armada. He never lived to return and claim it, and no one else is believed to know where it's hidden.

    Beena
Beena, on an orbit about 19341105*106 km from its star. Its' radius is 71449 km, its' mass is 2917954. One year on Beena lasts 4651 earth years, one day on Beena lasts 10 earth hours. Its' average surface temperature is 1818, and it has 163 moons.

Beena is one of the distant Outer Planets that orbit Qabalixica from far away in the cold darkness amid clouds of icy comets. Beena is a huge planet, but dark and hard to see. Few have gone there so little is known.

Between the orbits of Chessed and Beena lies a vast asteroid belt. Many astronomers believe it is the wreckage of an eleventh Qabalixican planet. Some call this lost planet Daathyss, a nickname given to it by the whimsical astrophysicist Sebastian in one of the first scientific papers about Qabalixica's solar system. How Daathys was turned into floating rubble is unclear, although some theories have been put forward. Sebastian himself believed it was "dissolved in a cataclysm".

Navigating the asteroid belt is difficult and dangerous. Visitors to Beena are warned to proceed with utmost caution.

    Hokma
Hokma, on an orbit about 29011657*106 km from its star. Its' radius is 58723 km, its' mass is 1619998. One year on Hokma lasts 8545 earth years, one day on Hokma lasts 10 earth hours. Its' average surface temperature is 1702, and it has 123 moons.

Hokma is the other large Outer Planet. Some think of it as Beena's twin, but it's more like an older brother. Wise men travel there to meditate. Powerful visions are given to visitors who are worthy to receive Hokma's wisdom.

    KethRa
KethRa, on an orbit about 34813988*106 km from its star. Its' radius is 3750 km, its' mass is 421. One year on KethRa lasts 11233 earth years, one day on KethRa lasts 27 earth hours. Its' average surface temperature is 1357, and it has 39 moons.

Tiny, mysterious Keth-Ra is the smallest planet orbiting Qabalixica. It is also the one farthest away, beyond even the twin outer planets Beena & Hokma, beyond the icy comets, deep in the coldest darkness of space.

The Qlifoth people of Malkoot only recently invented telescopes powerful enough to glimpse Keth-Ra, but their cousins the sea dwelling Memna have known about Keth-Ra since the dawn of time.

If Memna stories are true, Keth-Ra was once an inhabited world occupied by the ancient Lightning People who built luminous pyramids on its permafrost deserts. Archeologists would love to visit Keth-Ra to search for such pyramids or other artifacts, but Keth-Ra is officially designated a No Visit zone by Imperial Order #137. No reason was ever given for this order, but it is strictly enforced. Violators will be shot down on sight.
